Support for the Kordonets Foster Family in Tulchyn

The Kordonets foster family in Tulchyn, Vinnytsia region, is raising six school-age children amid a full-scale war that complicates daily life. The family welcomed all six from orphanage care. They live in a home that now requires repairs and expansion to accommodate everyone safely. Day to day, the house adds extra strain: sewage pipes often clog; there is no centralized water supply, so water is carried from a well on a neighboring street; the heating system is old, and mold appears on the walls. Even with these pressures, the caregivers work to keep school, meals, and household routines steady so the children can move forward together.

Before joining this family, the children lived through difficult experiences. Many are rebuilding confidence, catching up at school, and learning to trust adults again. Common challenges noted in the letters include sleep difficulties, school adaptation gaps, and the work of forming friendships and feeling included. Each child deserves time, kindness, and support to grow at their pace; small wins are noticed and celebrated. With steady routines, patient guidance, and safe, caring adults beside them, daily effort turns into progress.

Our work with this family focuses on simple, concrete tools that protect study time and reduce household strain. Laptops and a printer make homework doable; phones help the family keep in touch with teachers and mentors; a dishwasher and small appliances return precious hours to care and rest. Together, these items strengthen the family’s daily rhythm and keep learning on track during an unpredictable wartime schedule.

Thanks to our donors, Ukraine Power sourced the equipment, arranged delivery, and confirmed receipt so every contribution translates into visible results for the children.
