The Hoinets family is one of many Ukrainian families whose lives have been torn apart by Russia’s full-scale invasion. Originally from Zymohirya in the occupied Luhansk region, they were forced to flee when their town became increasingly dangerous due to its location near the front line.
Now living in displacement, the family faces daily hardship without regular financial assistance. Their rented home in a rural village lacks many of the essentials we often take for granted.
A Family Facing Medical and Economic Hardship
Yaroslav, the family’s son, has suffered from hydrocephalus since the age of three. Over the years, he has undergone multiple surgeries and now requires a third shunt replacement. He is classified as a person with a first-degree disability and needs continuous supervision.
His father, Mykola, provides full-time care for Yaroslav, which makes it impossible for him to work. The family survives on a small state disability pension and limited social support, with no other source of income.
How Ukraine Power Stepped In
When the Hoinets family reached out to Ukraine Power, we provided essential support to help them restore basic living conditions. A portable power station ensured access to electricity during outages, a water heater gave them reliable hot water, and a chainsaw helped them collect firewood to heat their home.
This assistance reduced daily hardship and made life safer and more stable under difficult circumstances. For displaced families like the Hoinets, this kind of support is vital for survival.
Ukraine Power continues to deliver practical, life-sustaining aid to families across Ukraine. With your support, we can reach even more people in urgent need.
