House 100: Giving Families in Ukraine a Warm Home this Winter

Winter in Ukraine is unforgiving. For families displaced by the war, it is not just cold. It is life-stopping. When you lose your home, you lose your sense of safety, your privacy, your ability to rest, and the daily routines that make life feel normal.

House 100 is Ukraine Power’s campaign to change that.

Across Kyiv, unused student dormitories sit empty. They have heat, doors that lock, and roofs that hold. What they do not have are the basic essentials that turn an empty room into a livable space. That is where this project steps in.

Each room houses four displaced Ukrainians, and it costs $2,000 to fully furnish one room with everything a family needs to get through winter safely and with dignity: beds, mattresses, pillows, blankets, sheets, towels, a refrigerator, freezer, microwave, multicooker, and access to a shared stove.

Why Monthly Giving Matters Most

One-time gifts help us move faster. Monthly gifts help us finish the mission.

Monthly donations give this project stability. They make it possible to furnish rooms on a rolling basis instead of waiting for larger funding spikes. They allow families to move in sooner. They help us plan ahead, buy supplies efficiently, and reach more people before deep winter sets in.

Put simply: Monthly giving turns momentum into progress. It keeps rooms opening, families moving in, and hope growing.

The Goal: House 100 People by December 31

Ukraine Power is raising $50,000 by December 31 to furnish enough rooms to house 100 displaced Ukrainians this winter. We have already raised $20,000 as of November 26th, enough to prepare rooms for up to 40 people.

But winter will not wait.

Each donation, especially recurring monthly support, pushes us closer to opening the next door for the next family.

What $2,000 Really Covers

Here is the breakdown of what it takes to furnish one dorm room:

  • Beds: $320 ($80 x 4)
  • Mattresses: $240 ($60 x 4)
  • Pillows: $40 ($10 x 4)
  • Blankets: $80 ($20 x 4)
  • Sheets and towels: $160 ($40 x 4)
  • Refrigerator: $220
  • Freezer: $200
  • Microwave: $60
  • Multicooker: $60
  • Shared stove: $200

Every dollar goes directly toward these essentials for families who have lost almost everything.
